Middletown is the largest town in Monmouth County. In 2006 & 2008, CNN Money voted Middletown as one of the Top 100 places to live.

 

Transportation is one of the reasons. The Garden State Parkway has 2 exits in Middletown Exits 109 and 114. Other major roads running through Middletown are Route 35,  Route 36 and Route 520 (East - West). Additionally, there is a NJ Transit train station on Middletown. If you would rather take a ferry or a bus to NYC, that is an option.

 

Along Route 35 you can find almost any kind of shopping you need. There are numerous restaurants in the immediate area. Middletown also has numerous parks and recreation programs. Sandy Hook is also in Middletown.

 

There are 10 main condo / townhouse communities in Middletown, plus a number of smaller complexes offering everything from entry level condos to upscale townhouse communities, some offering views of the Raritan Bay. 

There are 17 public schools in Middletown, with over 10,000 students. There are twelve K-5 schools, three middle schools (6-8) and 2 high schools.

There are also 2 private high schools, Christian Brothers Academy and Mater Dei High School. Three private grammar schools, Saint Mary, Saint Leo the Great and Oak Hill Academy are also in Middletown. In addition, Brookdale Community College is also in Middletown.
